new Zonda R

Pagani Zonda RModena-based supercar maker Pagani have announced an even more extreme version of the Zonda model - if this is possible. Here is some information on the new Zonda R from Sydney-based Australian importer Supercar Investments, with the original press release from Pagani themselves below.
Zonda R
This Zonda is purpose made for track use, without the restriction of having to comply with any homologation or competition rules. State of the art safety features are employed in line with Pagani's philosophy of not tolerating any compromise when it comes to occupant safety.
A New HeartThe engine is built by the racing specialists at Mercedes AMG, where the championship winning DTM cars and the awesome CLK GTR are built.
The CLK GTR is probably the most devastating and effective weapon ever to compete in the GT series. From its engine the Zonda R borrows the basic architecture, including an ingenious dry sump which allows an extremely low centre of gravity. The engine is a structural member of the chassis and has the following
  1. 750 hp at 8000 rpm and 710 Nm of torque
  2. Lightweight carbon fibre high performance intake system
  3. Multi disc sintered racing clutch
  4. Formula 1 style exhaust, hydro formed in Inconel 625 and ceramic coated for optimal heat dissipation
The power unit is combined with a 6 speed transverse manual sequential synchronised gearbox, designed to satisfy even the most ambitious of drivers.
The Chassis
The central carbon chassis incorporates a roll cage and a rubber racing fuel tank with 4 fuel pumps and a racing style "dry break" filling system. The wheelbase has been increased by 60mm to offer the best stability.
The front and rear sub frames are brand new, built to accommodate a new suspension geometry and manufactured in avional. The magnesium forged rims with central wheel nut and a quick pneumatic lifting system allow fast and effortless changes of the racing slicks.
Pagani Zonda R
Bodywork & Aerodynamics
The all new bodywork has been honed to offer increased downforce, even in low speed corners. The longer front bonnet with vents, closed underbody and the rear overhang with an adjustable rear wing and race derived diffuser translate into shattering aerodynamic efficiency and allow very high cornering speeds.
The car displays and logs information about the amount of downforce being generated at each moment. Combined with the adjustable wings, this means the car can be set up for each track.
Workstation
The interior is designed to accommodate the driver and passenger in bespoke seats, built to offer the best support when the G-forces build up. The Digitek instrumentation provides all essential information and a sophisticated telemetry system, employing a variety of sensors and allows every single component of the car to be monitored.
Price
1.2 million Euro plus taxes - approximately $2M plus taxes.
Availability. If you're in the market for one - and the price above is within your bracket - you can reserve a build slot by contacting Sydney based Supercar Investments.

Zonda R

While we certainly cannot say the Zonda F lacks performance figures, driving around the Nürburgring in 7:32 and achieving lateral G forces of almost 1.5 G, it is however a road car, easy to drive, intuitive and setting the benchmark for comfort, safety and lightweight.
Pagani Zonda R
Paired with a quality finish and the attention to detail this made the Zonda F one of the most desirable supercars resulting in the 25 Coupé models being sold out in record time. This did not seem to fulfil the requirements of our most demanding customers, who adore the weekend drive on a racetrack.
The spark has been set by an Italo-American customer, enthusiast and already proud owner of 3 Zondas. He describes the project this way: “The thought has been on my mind for quite some time, but I am not interested in racing”.
The Zonda R is born with full liberty. The target: the ultimate performance at the racetrack without any implications of rules, except for safety, where no compromise is allowed. In September 2006 the first drawings were ready, but it was crucial to have the support of Mercedes-AMG for a high revving engine with a power output of 750hp, dry sump, light and with a low centre of gravity. The basis was the self supporting engine of the mighty CLK GTR, which has dominated the GT championships.
Even at constant racing pace the engine would have to cover over 5.000 km before servicing. The challenge has been accepted without hesitation. The Zonda R is a car designed from scratch, with only 10% of the Zonda F components to be carried over. The suspension forged in Avional, a new Pagani six speed transversal sequential gearbox, carbon fibre monocoque, aeronautical four pump fuel tank are only part of the equation.
The wheelbase has grown by 47mm, the overall length by 394 mm and the track is increased by 50mm. The bodywork and aerodynamics have been studied to offer maximum downforce. Even though built for the track, the project would not have received kick off, if the quality and finish of the car and its details was not up to the level of the Pagani road cars.
One of the first cars to be delivered however will be kept in a living room, designed by Pagani and built with the same materials as the Zonda F, beautifully textured carbon fibre, avional, titanium, inconel and other state of the art materials. Additionally it will feature a bespoke HiFi System that will allow the customer to listen to the sound of this car at Le Mans and the Nürburgring.

Automobile industry has seen various changes in past few years. Trend for compact hybrid cars is at its peak now a days. Several new designs are shaped every day and there is lot more to come.
Peugeot Modif is a fabulous design for a hybrid car that will be very successful in small towns and tight places. It has a two tone color scheme and the center of this is the large rubber tube-like center shaft that allows the car to squeeze up to 88 centimeters and also provides the front of the car with flexibility to swivel from side to side 18.5 degrees for better drive.
I liked the design as it is different from traditional designs, it features white tires and large black chrome wheels with each tire having six special pads holding sensors to intimate the driver for adjustment of car according to road conditions. Inside each massive wheel is a powerful hydrogen hybrid engine. 80% of the material used to make is renewable, the a rubber element in the front part houses the oil, water and CPU.

EEL, Future Vehicle, Eco Car
The EEL concept is a compact and lightweight vehicle that features functional aerodynamic construction for great energy efficiency. The compact shape of this three-wheeler allows it waving through busy traffic and in between other cars and houses only one passenger and the driver. When turning, it has been designed to lean to the particular direction allowing better control for the driver. This electric vehicle comprises bio-ethanol engine which is completely eco-friendly. When charging through a traditional power point, the covered scooter shaped vehicle looks much like a mobile phone getting charged through its charger.

All-terrain sport coupe by Batyr Ospanov

All-terrain vehicle, sport coupe, transformable chassis, future car
The new sports coupe by UK-based designer Batyr Ospanov is an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that alters shape to provide commutation on both smooth and rough terrains. Powered by electric generators located at rear wheels, the two-seater has two driving modes, the road mode and the off-road mode. In the road mode, all the systems of the ATV are adapted for driving along the city traffic, while the ATV transforms its chassis for rough terrains, such as deserts, steppes and hills, in the off-road mode.

Capable of moving on all terrains, the sports coup also integrates two extra lights under the transparent bonnet. The glass parts of the body are integrated with solar cells to produce extra energy for the sports car. The enclosed cockpit ensures more safety and comfort to the passengers during challenging trips.

ford nuclear car concept

Pic of Ford Nucleon
FPG/Hulton Archive/Getty
In the 1950s, Ford produced a concept car called the Nucleon, intended to run on nuclear power, but the vehicle was never produced. See more nuclear power pictures.

It may seem like an impossible quest, or something from a science fiction movie, but nuclear-powered cars are worth considering, especially with the ongoing energy and climate crises. Given these challenges, some experts think that the use of nuclear power, in various forms, will make a comeback in the near future. When done properly, nuclear power is relatively safe, clean and affordable. So why not use it for cars?

To get an idea, think of how countries have employed nuclear reactors for uses beyond traditional nuclear power plants, submarines and aircraft carriers. Some uses of specialized reactors include providing heating in extremely cold climates and trying to convert coal into clean-burning gas. Both the former U.S.S.R. and the United States used small reactors to power satellites, though the practice became controversial because of satellites' propensity to fall back to Earth and break apart. These are examples of research reactors, and they may provide scientists with some ideas of how to adapt nuclear reactors for use in other vehicles.

One such possibility is nuclear-fueled hydrogen -- using nuclear energy to create clean, safe, affordable hydrogen fuel. Nuclear reactors could also power stations where motorists charge highly efficient batteries. Finally, scientists could create a miniature nuclear power plant and stick it in a car.

On the next page, we'll take a closer look at the benefits and explore some of the problems with a potential nuclear-powered car.

lamborghini bike concept

lamborghini motorcycle main Lamborghini Bike Concept Looks Futuristic
Flavio Adriani has designed the Lamborbiker, which is an awesome concept bike. He was inspired by the legendary Marcello Gandini who is a designer with the Bertone. The bike looks futuristic and reminds me of great bikes often seen in Europe. It comes with curved lines and a frame that is rather sleek.
The wheels don’t have hubs and it almost looks like a mean machine that is out to get the bad guys you see in the movies. I especially like the black color of the bike, as it makes it look meaner. However, there is no information about its technical specifications or its price. I would have loved the bike if it were a little sturdier.
I guess we will have to wait for a while to know if this bike would ever be launched. I would suggest you bike lovers to wait and watch to see if this bike will get launched. In my opinion, it is an interesting design and hence should create a buzz in the Market.

Nuclear powered bike

nuclearrow-image1_6lvQO_5965
The Nuclearrow Concept by Julien Vermeulen stands out of the crop of concepts we have seen in the past few days. The vehicle does look at clean energy, but does not stop at plain old lithium batteries and hydrogen, it goes quite ahead with the choice of Nuclear Power! The fusion reactor is placed at the rear and associated with a wheel engine, sending power to the rear wheel.
To cover the “jewel” in his design, Julien designed the engine to be housed like a “pearl in a shell”. The driver stretches out on the frame around the tank to drive, and since the vehicle is enclosed by screens for more security, additional data and directional systems are used. The entire concept has been housed in a textured shell based on squall skin that protects the driver and helps aerodynamically.
With power coming from nuclear fusion, we guess the Nuclearrow will move at mind numbing speeds and with great power; this makes the shell encasing more practical. Agreed, the technology is far from being a reality anytime soon, but it does show a very interesting take on the future of mobility.
Julien is currently looking for a six-month internship to complete his master.
